Once again AVAware’s outstanding catalog development has come through. 2016 catalog updates from every major hardware manufacturer are online and ready for download.

The beginning of every new year invariably brings with it catalog updates from all of the major architectural hardware products lines. Like clockwork, manufacturers such as Allegion, Assa Abloy, Dorma and Stanley issue new releases and/or updates to their entire catalog collections. Usually with only a few weeks of advance notice, AVAware’s catalog development team is given entire product “families” of catalogs to be updated from each one of them. Also like clockwork, this outstanding team of professionals got them done. In the first thirty days of 2016 alone, AVAware released over 40 new and updated catalogs – in two currencies and across two divisions.

AVAware is one of only a very few software developers, servicing the architectural openings industry, that develops all of its own subscription content. In fact, AVAware is one of the only software companies that maintains independent, software development, catalog development and technical support teams all under a single roof. It’s the ability for all these professionals to work in concert, and have access to each other that makes it possible for AVAware to deliver software products and subscription content of the highest quality – even in the face of impossible delivery schedules.

A complete listing of the catalogs offered by AVAware can be found on the website at http://www.avaware.com. Anyone looking for additional information about AVAware ‘Subscription Services’ are invited to contact the customer support team.

Dorma Providing Project Specifications in AVAproject Format – to U.S. and Canadian Customers!

The only thing more convenient than importing project specs into AVAproject is receiving in native AVAproject format. Dorma is able to provide project specifications that can be opened in AVAproject – no import necessary!

In the early part of 2013, AVAware proudly welcomed Dorma Americas to the growing list of manufacturers that have selected AVAproject for use by their specification writers. This choice has also provided a huge benefit for Dorma customers that are also using AVAproject for their estimating and detailing.

AVAproject users may contact Dorma directly to request project specifications and have them provided as native AVAproject (.APJ) files that can be opened and worked with immediately. The benefit to AVAproject users doesn’t end there however… Since Dorma’s specification writers are using AVAware catalogs to create the specifications, all the products contained in the project file arrived already linked to the same catalogs used by all AVAproject users.

Needless to say, receiving files in this format can eliminate countless hours of time normally spent in the preparation of estimates and submittal documents. Users need only fill in additional project details, discounts, markups, etc. – most of the tedious work has been done for them!

Allegion SpeXtra Import Receives Overwhelming Response

AVAproject’s new Allegion’s SpeXtra import facility launched to widespread enthusiasm from users that were excited about the prospect of receiving pre-written project specifications directly from a leading hardware manufacturer.

The December 2015 release of AVAproject (Rev 15.4), brought with it a number of powerful new features and enhancements to the software. Amongst them was a brand new import facility that allowed users to import files created by Allegion’s “SpeXtra” spec. writing system directly into AVAproject.

Even based on the initial response, it was apparent that this feature was going to be well received. But no one could have imagined just how well. AVAware’s sales and support teams have been inundated with calls from enthusiastic users wanting to know how and where they could get their hands on SpeXtra files for their current projects. So here it is...

Anemostat Product Catalog… and More - Coming to AVAproject in 2016

AVAproject users can look forward to having the 2016 Anemostat Product catalog available as part of their D8 Hardware subscriptions.

In the December 2015 edition of the AVAwire newsletter, AVAware proudly announced a new partnership with Anemostat Products of Carson, California.

AVAware will release a content-rich version of the Anemostat price book, complete with stunning, vector-based catalog cuts and drawings. This unique version of the popular price book will feature beautifully prepared supplementary material, only available to AVAproject users.

In addition to the price book itself, AVAware’s development team is hard at work on an exciting new software feature... One that is centered around the brand new Anemostat catalog, featuring it in a way never before offered in any detailing and estimating software!

The 2016 Anemostat price book comes into effect on March 1st; subscribers to AVAware’s ‘Division-8 Hardware’ catalogs will be able to download it on or before that date.

AVAproject users that are interested in obtaining the Anemostat price book, or requiring additional information should contact AVAware’s Customer Support team.

Baron and Fleming 2016 Price Books Have Arrived

AVAproject users across Canada and in many parts of the U.S. will be pleased to hear that Baron and Fleming have both released brand new editions of their hollow metal door and frame price books for 2016.

Two of the most eagerly awaited price books in Canada have arrived! The 2016 Baron and Fleming price books have been released, and come into effect on March 1st. These releases are the first made by either brand since they were acquired by Assa Abloy in 2006 and 2001, respectively, and they consolidated their manufacturing facilities into the Baron location in Woodbridge, Ontario, Canada.

Fleming distributors should be particularly comfortable with the new books; both were clearly modeled after the long-standing Fleming price book (originally released in 2004), and both have maintained much of that original format. Despite its familiar appearance, however, two important changes were introduced in the new versions.
