Anemostat 2016 Available for Download
The newest addition to the AVAware division-8 hardware catalog library is online and available for subscriber downloads.
Readers of the AVAwire newsletter may recall an article in the December 2015 edition in which AVAware proudly announced a new partnership with Anemostat Products of Carson, California. Anemostat’s products are amongst the most popular throughout the architectural openings industry, recognized world-wide for their innovative and often unique offerings.
AVAware’s catalog development team has created an electronic version of the newly released 2016 Anemostat catalog for use with AVAproject. The new price book comes into effect on March 1st and is accompanied by a complete library of high-quality, vector-based catalog cuts that have been conveniently linked to the products themselves.

DHI Conference & Exposition 2016
At the beginning of May, Orlando played host to the annual Door and Hardware Institute (DHI) sponsored trade event for the architectural openings industry. ‘conNextions’ has for many years been the premiere event of its kind for the industry throughout North America, often even attracting attendees from many other parts of the world.
This year’s extravaganza took place at the Orlando World Center Mariott. The outstanding facilities and on-site convention space offered attendees the opportunity to enjoy all aspects of the convention, from the exhibition floor to the various seminars and education events, all under a single roof.

The architectural openings industry's premiere publication, Doors & Hardware Magazine, has featured two AVAware articles thus far, with more on the way!
October 2011 - "BIM and the Architectural Openings Industry", authored by AVAware President & CEO Paul Kirsch, explores the implications and impacts of BIM technologies on the architectural openings industry and specifically the distributors of its products.
August 2011 - "What Makes a Network Application", authored by AVAware President & CEO Paul Kirsch, describes common computer network configurations, the strengths and weaknesses of these configurations, and finally the relationship of software and data when used in a network environment.
June 2011 - "Software in an Integrated World", authored by AVAware President & CEO Paul Kirsch, examines the various interpretations of the term "integration" as it applies to software. It also provides a brief history of software integration, how modern approaches and technologies came to be and offers general software selection advice for maximum ROI.
May 2011 - "XML - In Plain English!", written by AVAware Lead Developer Andrew Melling, explains XML in layman's terms and attempts to clear the confusion surrounding what it is and how it is used in terms of software integration.

Microsoft Bids Farewell to Windows XP
Microsoft has announced that as of October 22nd, 2010, manufacturers are no longer permitted to preload netbooks with Windows XP. Netbooks were the last category of PC to be preloaded with Windows XP, which means no more new computers will be sold with Windows XP installed.
On this same date, Microsoft discontinued packaged software sales of Windows Vista. Vista is scheduled for total discontinuation on October 22nd 2011, the planned date for the end of all preinstalled Vista sales.
As Microsoft is making a move to focus on its newest operating system, Windows 7, we are also moving forward. We recently published our newest release, AVAproject 2010, which is fully Windows Vista, Windows 7 and 64-bit compatible. AVAproject 2010 utilizes all power and performance increases on newer Windows installations, and is part of our ongoing commitment to stay on top of updates to the Windows operating system.

AVAware's team of developers are pleased to announce the latest release of the AVAware Suite. Between platform upgrades for Windows 7 and 64-bit, and many "under the hood" enhancements as well as new user features and options, this is without a doubt the most dramatic revision we've ever made to the product!
The general release of the new software package is now available in the "Product Updates" area of the Customer Login along with a newly revised edition of the "Getting Started Guide" containing detailed descriptions of all the new features added in the 2010 updates.

AVAware's New Home
AVAware is constantly growing, both in customer base and staff. To ensure our company can manage this ongoing growth effectively, we have moved to a new, much larger location. Though many properties were considered, we settled on a 15,000 square foot building in Oakville, Ontario (4 times the size of our previous office!).
Located at the intersection of 3 major highways, our new building is easily accessible by any of the surrounding cities. We are a 20 minute drive from both downtown Toronto and Pearson International Airport.
The entire interior of the building has been rebuilt utilizing the latest in data and communication technologies, allowing us to work more effectively on software development and provide even better customer service.
